A clear understanding of risk and its active management is key to the project success. Our structured approach to risk management enables our clients to identify and actively manage the issues that could otherwise impair a successful project outcome.

Our risk management service is designed to ensure that the conditions and processes for a successful project are in place from the outset and to ensure the early identification and assessment of risk so that effective monitoring and management plans can be implemented. It is an integral part of our organisation. It is about making the best possible decision with the information that is available. It is about understanding not only what might go wrong, but when and why, and what can be done about it. It helps positively differentiate between opportunity and threat.

We begin by addressing management issues, to ensure that the conditions and processes for success are in place. We then build an understanding of the principal project risks and develop management strategies to maximise potential to deliver the expected benefits. We apply these processes throughout the life of the project, also recognising that the capital costs of the building represents only a small fraction of the total cost of operating a facility over its life and that for some clients to make the right long term decisions, it is often necessary to compare options on a whole life basis. For the savvy, however, risk assessment is a tool to be used to help address problems before they emerge.

We believe that the early identification of risks pays dividends in the long run as mitigation measures are invariably less expensive the earlier they are introduced. We aim to build long term relationships and continue to manage residual risk as long as necessary.
